Local Organizations attending to homelessness

Project Home provides emergency shelter in Ramsey County for children and their parents.  They work with dozens of area churches, synagogues and schools, and provide 40-60 beds of emergency shelter for children and their parents in Ramsey County each night. During fiscal year 2011, Project Home emergency shelter beds were slept in 12,689 times.

Families Moving Forward is a faith based nonprofit organization in Minneapolis, Minnesota that provides temporary emergency shelter, permanent affordable housing and supportive services to low income families with children. In collaboration with over 40 local congregations and thousands of volunteers, we provide hope to homeless families with children by:

  • Providing temporary emergency shelter
  • Supporting our former shelter families with continued advocacy and education
  • Developing affordable rental housing for families.

St. Andrews Lutheran Church Resource Center provides short-term emergency housing, off-site housing searches and assistance. Emergency food kits, basic needs, computer access and
more as listed in basic needs section.
