Community Empowerment through Black Men Healing Conference

This conference, the 6th annual, will be held on September 19th & 20th at Metro State University.

From the 1st annual conference held in 2009, the mission of the conference is to offer an alternative way of thinking about community building, by addressing intergenerational and historical trauma, which we have found to be barriers to effective collaboration, sustainable change, and community empowerment. The conference provides an opportunity for meaningful community engagement and access to national and local educators, and community practitioners to discuss and introduce practical culturally sensitive trauma informed, outcome driven methods and services. The overall goal of the conference is to improve the health and wellness of African American men and their families, resulting in the larger community becoming healthier and safer.

Open to men and women of all cultures working with the African American community or interested in the topic
